Dear Ballplayer:

Congratulations on being selected to participate in our annual tryouts for the Philadelphia Phillies East Coast Professional Showcase Team and the New York Yankees Area Code Team! The opportunity to represent the Northeast part of the country in these 2 tremendous events is highly competitive and a great honor. From a scouting standpoint, these events provide a venue where quality players are challenged to compete against the best of the best on a daily basis, allowing us to compare you with the top players in other sections of the United States. We are excited about having you attend one of these tryouts, and if you make either one of these teams or both of them, we guarantee you that it will be an experience that you will never forget and always remember in your development as a baseball player!

Please choose one of the tryout dates and locations that fit best into your schedule. We have 3 options for you to choose from: June 9 @ Bentley College in Waltham, MA; June 10 @ Richmond County Ballpark in Staten Island, NY; June 11 @ Coca Cola Park in Allentown, PA. The day begins at 8:00 AM with REGISTRATION and will conclude at approximately 3:00 PM. Plan on a full day! Wear baseball pants and a baseball hat, bring your spikes, glove, and wood bat. Additionally, bring something to drink and a snack. We will provide you with an Area Code Tryout t-shirt with a number on it so you will be able to be identified on the roster. BRING THE WAIVER FORM with you, make sure that all of that information is filled out, and have the waiver form NOTARIZED by a NOTARY PUBLIC (Go to a local bank or town hall). TRYOUT for the East Coast Professional Showcase and the Area Code Games is FREE. The only cost associated with both events is TRAVEL EXPENSES. Participation is FREE and the teams are run by Major League Scouts from different sections of the United States. Our Staff includes Northeast Scouts from the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Tampa Bay Rays, Philadelphia Phillies, Minnesota Twins, Atlanta Braves, and San Diego Padres. Our goal is to learn about what kind of baseball player you are along with what kind of person you are on and off the field while exposing you to a positive, competitive baseball environment.

Over the years, we have had some tremendous players represent the Northeast at both events. In the June 2011 Major League Draft, 26 players were selected off of our 2 teams. Over the past 6 years, 16 players have been selected in the 1^st round. These numbers should give you pride in this part of the country along with a sense of the quality of players assembled every year to play in the East Coast Professional Showcase and the Area Code Games. If you are ready to challenge yourself against the best, if you are prepared to see where you stack up against good competition, if the prospect of wearing a Major League uniform representing the Northeast sounds exciting, we can’t wait to see you in June and evaluate you in comparison to the other quality players trying out for these events.
